Rocky’s Chocolate Sauce with Fresh Fruit

I must admit chocolate is one of my favorite foods. I would eat a chocolate dessert every time I dine out if I could find one like this one at Rocky’s Italian Bistro. I love a chocolate dessert, but for me it has to be healthy and delicious. Rocky’s chocolate sauce served with perfectly ripe fruit was such a treat. His chocolate sauce was rich, thick, glossy and most importantly didn’t include butter or cream. I compelled him to create a healthy delicious chocolate dessert and the health conscious consumer will follow: “build it and they will come”. After eating this dessert I felt satisfied, healthy and buoyed by a chocolate high.

It is no wonder we feel so good eating chocolate. Cacao means “Food of the Gods”. It is a natural mood enhancer. Cacao can increase serotonin levels in the brain. High serotonin levels make you feel happier, more optimistic and have an overall better outlook on life. That is why it is called the “happiness hormone.”

Chocolate is not only a great mood enhancer, it is good for you. But not all chocolate is created equal. Rocky’s chooses the healthiest dark chocolate made from the cacao bean and made sure not to heat the cacao powder over 118 degrees so as not to devitalize the nutrients and compromise the healthy fats.

Cacao is super high in antioxidants, great healthy fats, omega-6 fatty acids, and is rich in essential minerals: magnesium, calcium, iron, zinc, copper, potassium and manganese and in vitamins: C, A, B1, B2, B3, and E.

If you are looking for a delicious guilt-free dessert, Rocky’s Italian Bistro is just the place.

Buon Appetito,
